The Past Week

Been very busy for the pass week. With mooncake festival and wedding comin one after another. In the midst of my tiredness, i could rejoice by seeing many joyful new faces joining from Uniten and UPM especially for the two nights of mooncake celebration, where i was in charge of the games.

Some of the new faces

The wedding of my friend of four years, Ying Hou to Keat Mei on saturday was extravagantly great as well, set in an english garden style. Pictures aren't ready, i was busy with the commitee in charge of ushering. No time to pop up my handy phone-cam. I'll be back again when i get the pics from the various photographers ^.^

But hey, suprise suprise...

About God

You are perhaps thinking who is this person called God and what is He all about? Well let me try to explain Him to you by sharing with you who Jesus is. Well the bible says that He is the Son of God. God sent his only son to this world because the world has basically become quite messed up. Though He was a spiritual being like God, He came and walked on earth as a physical man … all for a simple reason to love us!

Let me explain...

When God created us, He meant for us to know Him. Not just know Him but to have a real personal relationship with Him just like a child with a good loving father.

But we are sinful and basically don’t always choose to do the right things. You see when we do wrong things (may it cheating or lying or even having anger in the heart) it is ‘sin’ in the eyes of God. This decision to sin causes us to be separated from God

Nevertheless, man may still tries to reach God by living a good life, doing good works and following a certain good religion. All these so called “human efforts” just does not work, nothing will, at least not without God.

So what did God do? As I shared earlier, He sent His only son Jesus Christ to this world. Though He did not do anything wrong, He was wrongly persecuted and was punished on the cross. When He died, He paid the price of all our sins and created a path for us back to God.

Now this is so wonderful because it’s God’s gift to us. We can now decide to cross over by admitting that we have sinned and needed His forgiveness and leadership in our life.

So where are you on this path?

Do you wish to receive what Jesus has done for you and began a personal relationship God? If this reflects your heart’s desire, just say the simple prayer at the bottom of this page.

And if you wish to find out more, join us in any of our care groups, worship services, speak to us or just drop me an email.

Thanks for your time.

Say this prayer from your heart to go our own way and want Jesus to be the leader of our life.

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins, I want to turn from my sins, I now invite you to come into my heart and be the leader of my life. Thank you for coming into my life. In Jesus name Amen“.

Over"Friendly" Friendster

As usual, i was browsing about my Friendster's account. And i came to notice some new views....

Someone was checking me out... who?

Alrightt.. its a girl... how did she end up "checking' me out. Noticing that she's in my extended network, which means no link at all. Since it was a girl, i might as well take some time "checking" out in return... to see whether she's a 'beauty' or the 'beast' (omg.. God... i confess of this sin and sincerely repent)

Till i saw this... i had 2 sent a few post to clear a lil misunderstanding (already!)

What i did? Look at the next picture and u'll know why!

This was where my first original comment lies, within the Friendster's homepage of my classmate. Zoom in and the comment says "Ok... ur fat".

It appears that any comment i make on any one of the two pics above will simultaneously appear on both! Superb glitch you have done for me my dear Friendster!

I relate this incident to my housemate and his girlfriend, and they jokingly acknowledged,"Maybe God wants to help you to know more pretty girls!"

What the!!! -_-"

A Fruitful Day

Saturday…
Started my day, when I blur² woke up and read my 1st sms:

Around 12pm go for lunch? Meet at Noah’s Ark 1st – Ivan

Quickly i sent a simple 'Ok' affirmation... not b4 long... Then I notice its 11.50pm -_-! alamak… fast² strip, fast² bath, fast² dress, fast² style.

But not before I read the 2nd sms. A dear friend from Ipoh kinda encouraged me with this:

When i send u sms, it doesnt mean u have to do d same.. u can also send:- shark’s fin, abalone, birdnest, lobster, diamond, cash or other gifts.. so start 2day!!

Really swt* laa -_-“
But guess what’s my reply ^_^

Seek n u will find. Ask n it will be given. I do not own the floodgates of heaven, but I can help u ask our father above if ur paiseh… hehe.

I rushed straight to the restaurant. It’s not Noah’s Ark… that’s what we (entire Hope Serdang loh) calls my friends’ house. The restaurant is juz a simple chap fan shop lerr… and heyyy, I found out that I wasn’t entirely late without a purpose. God has planned something for me. Unexpectedly I met Ps. Kit Siang n his lovely wife Sis Shara, Bro Daniel, and two mid-aged man I dunno. Maybe pastor brought along visitors? I went and gather more chairs as I was expecting Ivan and Fei Yee as well, and when I was back… the mid-aged guys shy² left… o.0? Rupanya tumpang meja je… gua pun paiseh lah… to made them move. Anyhow the food was great and cheap (becoz Ivan is friendly with the seller... wah. Regular customer lah) and the short time of fellowship is nice and encouraging… considering only a few times get to eat at the same table with pastor.

Next I followed Ivan around, since I had nothing else to do during the whole noon. 1st we dropped Fei Yee off at church. And since it’s so close to The Mines, we walked over… Ivan had to go to the ATM, I went over to the newsstand to get my monthly dose of comics. Then on the basis of "wanting to finish the leftover arcade tokens”, we head to the arcade to play House of The Dead 4. My first time. Uncountable times for Ivan. We got KO’ed at 3rd stage… Game Over…

Later then dropped over to my place to get a bath and prepare for Hope KLCC Membership Dinner at somewhere near SOGO… somewhere near Chow Kit also loh… The journey hence started… but Ivan was then reminded of worship practice at church. What the… he actually forgot… >.< Tak jadi pergi… I went ahead first with Sis Helen.

Ivan did join later, after got lost for 1 hour. The ceremony had almost ended. In conclusion, he missed the dinner part. Hungry, he was, partially full I was. Dinner for him, seconds for me. We left KL and drove with a ½ sesat kinda look on each other’s face, until we reached Tesco Cheras.

Ivan with his dinner and my seconds.
Fish and Chips for him, Bruchetta Chicken Pasta
& Asparagus Soup for me.

Our drinks. Chocolate and Banana Milk-Shakes.
As u can see its super thick. It’s like a combo of milk-shake and sundae. Its super nice and costs RM4.90 each (b4 tax).

Forgot to mention the name of the place.

Ivan was apparently having a hard time with his Chocolate Mousse. Sudah penuh…

Both of us had a truly fruitful time together. We had long conversations about our parents, about our past… how we were so mischievous and such. Thank God that he gave me the opportunity to relate deeper, and THANK YOU Ivan for being supportive and also blessing me with the dinner (Bro n sis yang lain, jangan jelous tau…hehe) With this, I’m one step better to know this brother over here… which has now

Dozed off while preparing his WordForLife presentation for later this morning! Thank You For Giving To The Lord.

Good nite and God bless everyone.

First Impression: Sony PSP-200x

Holidays are coming, especially Christmas.. hmm hmm. Lotsa things on my wishlist... lol. And since Ellone been blogging about gaming consoles, i might as well join the fun. But i'm particular on PSP, since i dun personally own one yet.

Sony's latest handheld gaming device, the PSP (model 2000) offers various improvements over its predecessor. It boasts more RAM to make game load times a little faster and is now able to output video straight to the TV. The PSP's smaller size is also more pocket-friendly. The device provides the same great game play and media abilities that made the original PSP a success.

Thinner and Lighter: Measuring 6.6 by 2.8 by 0.6 inches (HWD), the PSP's shape has been streamlined in a way that is noticeable when you place the PSP 2000 next to the original, which measures 6.7 by 2.9 by 0.9 inches. The major difference between the two, however, is that the PSP 2000 weighs about a third less. When using the PSP 2000 for an extended time, the lower weight makes it really easy on the hands; those seasoned by hours of game play on the original model will feel the difference instantly.

Slightly Improved Design and Controls: The wavelike bulges on the old PSP, which covered the battery and Memory Stick slot on both sides and curved beneath the middle and index fingers, are gone. The PSP 2000's screen is the same as the original's and, unfortunately, just as smudge-prone (fingerprints all over lah).

The four-way direction pad, as well as the familiar "diamond" buttons (triangle, circle, square, and x), have been slightly elevated, offering greater feedback. (true aso lah.. but i never felt PSP-2000 yet, hence i dunno how much greater)

Another physical refinement is that the new PSP's UMD (Universal Media Disc) slot has a less mechanical structure than the original and is easier to operate. Instead of the dedicated button found on the old PSP, all that's required to open the UMD drive is a simple tug on the cover hatch. Placing a UMD in its grove within the opened hinge, then closing the hatch, is the easiest way to load discs.

The Memory Stick Duo slot has been moved to the left of the D-Pad, and the Wi-Fi switch has been placed on top of the unit, next to the mini USB port. The speakers, now elevated above the D-Pad and the "diamond" buttons, are actually better positioned for stereo listening. But the low volume levels that plagued the original PSP remain an issue.

Video output: The new PSP features an AV output jack (which doubles as a standard headphone connector). With the purchase of a special breakout cable, we can display the PSP's audio and video on virtually any TV. But there are a few notable caveats--most notably, the maximum video resolution varies according to the content displayed. Video content from UMD discs (prerecorded movies) and Memory Stick (home-ripped videos) can be displayed at DVD-level 720x480 resolutions, though quality will vary depending upon how the compression of the video in question. But games are locked into the PSP's native 480x272 display. So, if the TV doesn't have a robust zoom function, we're stuck with a window-boxed experience for games. Another potentially bigger problem with games is that they don't seem to even work on TVs that can't handle progressive-scan (480p) output. So while nearly any HDTV should be fine (with the component cable), older televisions will be limited to displaying non-gaming video output.

Faster Loading: The new PSP utilizes a system setting called "UMD Cache" that enables faster loading of game discs. PSP's extra RAM, It's got 64MB versus the 32MB on the original

USB Charging: The PSP 2000 runs firmware version 3.60, which is installed by default and comes with a new feature called USB Charge, which fully charges the PSP via a computer's USB port in roughly 5 hours. At first, USB Charge sounds like a welcome addition, but using it proves more of a hassle than a convenience. Unlike nearly all other devices that are able to charge over USB, the PSP must remain on in order to charge. Additionally, we must enable the USB Charge utility for charging to begin; simply connecting the PSP to the computer will not cut it. Another downside is that the 5 hours the PSP takes to charge over USB is nearly twice as long as charging via AC (kebodohan Sony. Maybe the later version of PSP-200x will fix this issue... hopefully lah)

Dedication of Praise

Thank You (For Giving To The Lord)
by Ray Boltz

I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me;
We walked upon the streets of gold
Beside the crystal sea.
We heard the angels singing
Then someone called your name.
We turned and saw a young man
And he was smiling as he came.

And he said, "Friend you may not know me now."
And then he said, "But wait,
You used to teach my Sunday School
When I was only eight.
And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start.
And one day when you said that prayer,
I asked Jesus in my heart."

Chorus
Thank you for giving to the Lord.
Cause I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord.
I am so glad you gave.

Then another man stood before you
And said, "Remember the time
A missionary came to your church
And his pictures made you cry.
You didn't have much money,
But you gave it anyway.
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that's why I am here today."

Chorus*

One by one they came
Far as the eye could see.
Each life somehow touched
By your generosity.
Little things that you had done,
Sacrifices you made,
Unnoticed on the earth
In heaven, now proclaimed.

Bridge
And I know up in heaven
You're not supposed to cry.
But I am almost sure
There were tears in your eyes.
As Jesus took your hand
And you stood before the Lord.
He said, "My child, look around you.
Great is your reward."

Thank you for giving to the Lord.
Cause I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord.
I am so glad you gave.

Life Changing Experience: Chapter I

Kinda delayed posting. My past one week was totally hectic; I had to reorganize after my mid-term break and catch up with my class tests and assignments… and my laundries. But putting all that aside…

For the first time in my four years of university, I have to admit that the recent one week holiday was tremendously meaningful. I attended a Purpose Driven LifeGame camp held at INTI Nilai from 30/8 till 2/9, organized by HOPE KL student group and coordinated by LifeImpactMinistries team.

There was altogether over 350 participants, mostly students with Christian background from all over KL region as well as other places. We have people from Uniten ~hey! That’s me~, MMU, LimKokWing, UPM, UKM, UM, UTAR Sg. Long, NewEra, INTI Nilai, UTP Tronoh, USM Penang, youth groups (secondary schoolers), few working adults (professionals), and couple of Singaporeans.

It was a great camp, the game itself is great, it's a real life monopoly. We got to "work", eat, and spend "money" in the game. Live out our "life", encounter "marriages", "sickness", "accidents" and even "deaths". We’re given a chance to live life once at a fast pace, witness how we and others deal with the dilemmas in life. If any of you out there ever have the opportunity to join the camp, give it a try and you will have a bigger picture of what life is all about.

Look forward to Chapter II for the story of my "life", hopefully with pictures (if I have the time to get it from my unofficial camera-girl).

Of Mercy and Grace

Often we heard people chanting the word mercy and grace. Sound almost similar right? How do we actually differentiate that we’ve been granted mercy or graced upon? Check up the dictionary. You may find various meanings that relates to the human life, but in the end, I bet most of you would be further confused.

Let me start with a story,

Long time ago, in the ancient days before America was even found. The natives live there, we call them the Red Indians. And there’s this one village. What makes it so special is that it has a chief with a strong sense of justice where people are living a secured and crime free life.

But one day, there was complain that the villager’s chickens were stolen. Hence, the chief gathered the entire village and he said, “Now, if you had stole the chickens, confess and you’re punishment shall be light. You shall endure 10 strokes of the whip.” No one came forth.

“Do repent and confess now! And now, you shall endure 20 strokes!” Yet no one came forth either. The villagers were then getting impatient; making loud noises, demanding that justice to be done quickly. “CONFESS!!! AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE 100 STROKES!!!” the chief shouted furiously. 100 strokes can leave anyone dead, even if were to survive, it’s a great suffering. No one confessed. And the day ended.

After some time, the thief was caught and brought to face the chief. It was his mother. Many now whispering to one another, “It’s his mother; he wouldn’t possibly punish her of 100 strokes”. Some others shouting that justice must be done accordingly.

The chief, not for even once, was in the state of confusion. He calmly ordered his mother to be tied to a stake, and have his strongest warriors to carry out the punishment with all their strength, as if the person tied there was the enemy.

As the strokes were to land on the mother.
The chief……… covered over his mother with his bare back…

Mercy means simply NOT GETTING WHAT WE DESERVE. As we read from the story, the mother had been saved by her merciful son. The chief’s act of kindness had saved her. Grace is just the exact opposite. Is getting what we don’t actually deserve.

Take an example of our student lives, we often pray for mercy and a soften heart of the lecturer, while waiting for our test results, for we know how badly we did in the test and that we want better than what we deserve. On the other way around, we proclaim “Thank you for the grace given to me” when we get a better than expected test results.

Likewise, in our Christian life, Jesus had mercy upon us all, for we are all sinners and He died on the cross to cleanse us of our sins. For our sins we are deserved to be punished, but Jesus took it all and shoulder it on the cross. And through him, we are graced upon for our God has promised that whoever believe in him and carry out His good works, the reward shall be waiting for us in heaven.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Romans 3:23-24 (NIV)

P/S. the story earlier had been told to me by a dear pastor who has impacted my life in many ways. Thank you Ps. John Kwan of LifeImpact Ministries for sharing such a wonderful story. Do feel free to repost this entry in any of your blogs, e-mails or bulletins if it has really touched and moved your heart. God bless.

Life Changing Experience: Prologue

Wow. I've just got back from LifeGame '07 @ INTI Nilai. It was truly a life changing experience, for me, and i believe, for most of the 300+ participants as well. During the camp, it often came to my mind, "I wish you were here with me"; to all the people that i invited but did not respond to the calling for participating in this one in a lifetime LifeGame, because its a game that is made so special that you need only to play once and have a deep impact for the rest of our lives.

Haha... im too tired today. Well, after for days of active participation and never ending fun time fellowshiping with one another. Stay tuned, coz the coming entries will highlight more of my experience in LifeGame '07 Nilai, and how it has changed my life!
